This information is provided by the candidate

John believes in our representative form of government and understands the important of representing the people, and in listening to viewpoints on both sides of an issue. He does not believe government can be, nor should it be, all things to all people. He believes government has a limited role whose primary function is public safety and essential services. But John also believes in a common sense approach, which recognizes and appreciates the long-standing benefits that Brea provides to its residents, setting itself apart from most cities in creating a family-friendly atmosphere and community spirit that brings people together and enhances the quality of life for every generation of Breans.

John understands the challenges and responsibilities facing the City Council over the next four years, and believes that it's essential to elect councilmembers of vision, who are willing to set the tone, provide the direction and establish the policies for dealing with the critical issues facing Brea over the next several years. Brea is facing a time of potential and unprecedented grown that can have profound, long-lasting affects on our city. Hillside development, increased traffic, infrastructure, completion of the sports park, ensuring public safety, and fiscal management in maintaining a balanced budget in an uncertain economy, with a state budget of $98 billion, equivalent to the entire 1961 US federal budget, and a $20 billion deficit. John understands the importance of studying the issues, getting the facts, maintaining a sense of fairness and balance, and remaining decisive in doing what's best for the people and community of Brea.
