I have been employed with the City of Monterey Fire Department since 1969. Previous to that I worked for the Pacific Grove Fire Department, California Department of Forestry and the U.S. Army as a fire-fighter. I have spent over 40 years in the fire service and will be retiring.

Attending Monterey Peninsula College after my tour of duty in the Army and Vietnam allowed me to attain an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science.

We first moved to Del Rey Oaks in 1969 where it has been my home. The community and quality of life has allowed me to raise three children in a peaceful enviornment. I am married and my wife works as a RN at Community Hospital and Standford Hospital.

We organized the first Homeowners Association in 1983 to bring issues to the City Council which we felt needed to be addressed. This lead myself to be elected to the City Council in 1984, I continue to serve in as a city councilperson.

During those early years we made several changes in which I was fortunate to lead the way. (1) Placing the Mayor on the ballot prior to citizens voting the Mayor was selected by a majority of the city council. (2) Renovated and developed the Work Memorial Park at the end of Angelus Way and installed our own well for watering the park and city hall. (3) Purchased some of the city's maintenance equipment and computer system in the police department, which continues to be updated in the city's budget.

My involvement with youth through my children playing sports has allowed me the opportunity to bring and develop the PONY Bronco World Series to Monterey. This with the aid of numerous volunteers and community support has provided hundreds of children from the Peninsula both male and female to play in this International Sports Event.

Supported the City Council in the development of the Stone Creek Center, and supported the annexiation of the the 360 acres of the former Fort Ord.

I continue to serve on the City Council as I find it rewarding and hope that I have contributed to the quality of life in our city.
