Education and Qualifications

Chair, Planning Commission (member since 2000); General Plan Update Subcommittee; prior member, Architectural Review Committee (chair 4 years) and Neighborhood Improvement Program Committee; founding president, Oak Grove Neighborhood Association (1987).

Former Captain, United States Army Reserve, and Desert Storm Veteran.

Camp Fire leader (1972-2000) and board member/secretary of the board.

B.A., Political Science, University of California, Berkeley; A.A., Music, College of Marin.

Graduate of Leadership Monterey Peninsula.

Employment

July 2002-Present: My business partner and I have recently created a new corporation in Monterey called e-fission. We specialize in computer network optimization and workflow automation.

March 1993-June 2002: Graphic Design Coordinator, Templeton Private Client Group (part of Franklin Templeton Investments).

1982#1993 (except for January-July 1991, when I was called up for Desert Storm): Sole Proprietor, Words Worth, a graphic design and editing company.

Personal

Married to Harlan W. Jencks for 20 years. Resident of Monterey since 1982.

I have earned a reputation for being a respectful and careful listener, and I pride myself on always doing my homework and being prepared.
