This information is provided by the candidate

Morgan Christopher was born and raised in Los Angeles, and brings a rock solid determination to keep Monterey from becoming his native L.A. He has a lifelong love of history, small towns, education and the arts.

Morgan is owner of Morgan's Coffee & Tea in downtown Monterey. But he is most proud of his wife and daughter. It is for the future of that five-and-a-half-year-old daughter that he has decided to run for Mayor of the City of Monterey. It is his ultimate goal to help coordinate a compassionate and ethical city government which will plan and create a vibrant city in which to raise her.

Although he is not a politician, and this campaign represents his first run for public office, Morgan has been interested in government and politics for as long as he can remember. Over the years he has been impressed by the manner in which great leaders at every level of government are responsive to the needs and concerns of their constituents, while remaining true to their fundamental convictions.

For the past eight years, Morgan has been struck by the unresponsiveness of Monterey's current leadership. He has been concerned about the decisions that come from city hall, and their ultimate impacts upon the city's residents and visitors. He plans to help bring Monterey's focus back to its unique history that attracts quality tourism. He plans to make education a constant topic of dialogue in the city. He plans to take active and aggressive measures to support local businesses.

And he plans to make Monterey the most livable city possible for all of its residents.

It is time to plan. It is time to lead. It is time for a change.
