Ben Shepherd's Background and History

Born: Eureka, CA, Jan. 8, 1942

Family: Wife, Wendy Wahlund, four children and six grandchildren. Great-grandfather homesteaded in Humboldt County in the late 1860's.
Raised: On the family ranch in the Arcata Bottoms.

Education:

Elementary School: Janes School (Now Pacific Union)
High School: Arcata High, Class of 1960
College: Humboldt State University, Class of 1965, B.S. in Education
Work:
Trinidad Union School District 1965 to 1998
Positions: Classroom teacher grades 5 through 8, Vice Principal, Director of Special Programs and Instructional Technology.

Owner Split Rock Ventures, economic and demographic data analysis.

Presently operate A&L Feed and Garden Supply, his wife's business.
