Madeline T. Restaino- Gold Trail Union School District Trustee

By Madeline T. "Maddy" Restaino

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Gold Trail Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate
All board decisions must be based on the needs of children. A trustee prudently manages money and endeavors to create a safe, challenging, caring learning environment. I have been a trustee for many years and I believe that this experience helps me be a successful problem solver.
I believe in our schools. I enjoy serving my community in this leadership role and feel highly qualified. I teach fifth grade at Miller's Hill School in Latrobe School District and understand the challenges and rewards of teaching. I was honored to receive the El Dorado County School Boards Association's Educational Statesmanship Award.

During my seventeen years as trustee, Sutter's Mill School was built and became a California Distinguished School. My two sons graduated from Gold Trail. The comprehensive, balanced education, and award winning fine arts program enabled them to excel in high school and university study. I applaud our talented teachers and staff. Our parents and community are tireless supporters of our schools. Measure G, which will fund essential, major repair of Gold Trail School, reflects this community pride and I urge your support for this bond.

Board focus must be on student achievement, especially in the basic skills of reading and math, and implementation of prudent fiscal and facility management practices.

I will not be putting up signs or sending brochures to voters.I am using the time I would have spent doing this to help support Measure G.

I urge your support and believe I bring to this office a wealth of experience and good will.

Please call me if you have any questions about my candidacy.
