ALL of the former candidates for Superior Court Judge in the March primary election endorse Dan Proud for Judge!!This year, with the retirement of Superior Court Judges Haas, Riley, and Smith, El Dorado County will lose over 50 years of judicial experience at a time when the demands on the courts have never been higher. It was for this reason that we, the undersigned, Primary Election candidates for Superior Court Judge, chose to run in the spring primary election. That election had a record number of candidates, 12 in all, running for the three judicial positions. Each of us garnered a considerable vote in our respective races, but each of us was ultimately unsuccessful in our attempt. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters for their efforts and for their votes. Your confidence in us is gratifying and humbling. However, we have one more thing to ask of you. Each of us has decided to endorse and will vote for Daniel B. Proud for Superior Court Judge, Office 5, in the upcoming November election. We have known Dan for years and wholeheartedly support his candidacy. The three retiring Superior Court Judges know, better than anyone, the requirements of the position and the experience needed to provide firm, yet tempered justice. Dan Proud is the only candidate for Superior Court Judge to have been endorsed by all three of the retiring judges. We ask all citizens of El Dorado County and, in particular, those who supported any or all of us in the March primaries, to throw their support behind Dan Proud. He is, by far, the most qualified candidate for the position and will make an outstanding judge. Thank you for your consideration. Donald R.
