A brief candidate description

By David C. "Dave" Garner

Candidate for Board Member, 4 Year; Byron Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate
This summary is a replication of my official candidate statement, and should give the reader a feel for what I believe in as it relates to the office I seek.
I am David Garner, resident of Discovery Bay and father to daughters enrolled in our schools. I offer myself as a candidate for Byron school board. I am 37 years old, have a Bachelors degree from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Georgia State University. I have 13 years of progressively responsible management experience that includes sales, planning, budgeting, results reporting and general oversight. I am a consensus builder and believe in finding the middle ground that everyone can support. I am fiscally conservative by nature and believe in adequate planning. No matter what we face in our community, I believe we should never fail to remember that the children are our absolute priority - not the administrators, not the budgets - the children. If we fail in this, we fail the children and in turn, our collective futures. I hope to work in concert with our school staffs to raise the quality of our children's education, and in turn, the rating our schools receive. Elect and use me as your vehicle to effect change on our school board. Support me as I strive to support our students in their pursuit of excellence. Nothing else matters.
