Born and raised in Alameda, Rochelle Bird grew up in the East Bay. Her first introduction to Moraga was while attending Saint Mary's College of California. As a proud freshman, she became enamored with the town. Years later, Rochelle returned to Moraga for her wedding, and eventually to raise a family with her husband, Jeff Bird of Orinda. Rochelle has been a resident of Moraga for 11 years.

Rochelle has been an active volunteer in the community with the Saint Mary's College Alumni Board of Directors. During her tenure as a Board Member, she served as chair for fundraising efforts to support scholarship and faculty fellowship. In addition, Rochelle and Jeff were avid callers during the college's Annual Fund Drive.

In 1993, Rochelle began a career in investment banking with Bear Stearns. She started in Institutional Equities Trading, and ultimately became the Operations Manager. She later worked at Mellon Capital Management as a Senior Associate of Corporate Operations. Rochelle earned the respect of her peers, and was known as a hard working manager that encouraged teamwork. In 1999, Rochelle concluded her financial career to take on another challenge- motherhood.

While raising her 3-year old daughter, Rochelle remains active in the community as a member of the Moraga Juniors Women's Club.

Rochelle has experience in building strong business relationships, working with people of varying social and economic backgrounds, and making sound decisions. She will serve as a member of the Moraga Town Council with the same efficiency and effectiveness.
