Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Lance Montauk

Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; Berkeley Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe that the current School Board is a disaster, conducting endless social experiments with endless failures in an attempt to realize their "visionary" politics.

I have gotten to know them well after scores of meetings. They are unimaginative thinkers whose philosophy consists of repeating the every day pablum of Berkeley's leftists.

EVERY SINGLE TIME THEIR PROGRAMS FAIL THEY BLAME IT ON EITHER NOT ENOUGH MONEY OR GRANT PROGRAMS RUNNING OUT OF FUNDS!

IN THE MEANTIME THEY'VE RUN UP A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR BUDGET DEFICIT WHICH MAY RESULT IN A STATE TAKEOVER OF THE DISTRICT. THEY ARE SO BAD, HOWEVER, THAT THIS MIGHT IMPROVE THINGS!

The current Board spends two to five times as much of the district budgent as does the average district on consultants, lecturers, support services, administration, etc., but 15% to 50% less than the average district does on teachers' salaries, textbooks, and classroom instructional materials. The present Board should be ashamed of themselves.......especially because they are asking for a 71% raise in their own salaries with the Measure K!

I believe that endless change is destructive. Their priorities are a disaster. Berkeley needs to return to basics.
