New Opportunities

By Scott M. Kamena

Candidate for Director; Livermore Area Recreation and Park District

Things I'd like to do if elected to serve on the LARPD Board again.
LARPD has many other opportunities to expand its offerings to the Livermore area. Some of them are straightforward and simple, others are ambitious and expensive. I think it's important the we do our best to find ways to: • Open Brushy Peak Regional Park to the public ASAP • Create a large Sports Park with multiple ball fields similar to those in Dublin & Pleasanton • Add one or two more dog parks so that owners can happily have their dogs off leash without harassing others • Keep a lap pool open year-round at the upcoming Community Center • Complete landscaping at the Skate Park to make it more pleasant for both users and neighbors • Implement the new Ravenswood Historic Site Master Plan • Create a separate park for street bikes • Expand offerings for seniors at the upcoming Community Center • Get the Youth Advisory Commission more involved in City and LARPD decisions
