As a University Professor I have taught stress management, sport psychology, swimming, running, fitness, and many other courses. I have coached coed age group swimming and men's and women's track. As a competitive distance runner with over 40 years experience I have raced in the national cross country championships 4 times and won the seniors national cross country championships in 1996.

My wife and I have lived in Livermore for over 8 years and we have been directly involved with LARPD helping it better serve the members of the community. I have volunteered my time with LARPD's Volunteers in Action, clearing trails (behind Murrieta Meadows and in Sycamore Grove), cleaned Robertson Park, and worked at the Children's Fair and at the Fourth of July festivities.

I also have direct involvement with LARPD as a Community-at-Large member of the Sycamore Grove Technical Advisory Committee when we developed the Resource Management Plan for Sycamore Grove.

My volunteer work with the city of Livermore includes past membership on the Growth Review Committee and the Bikeways and Trails Committee. Current membership includes serving as Vice Chair of the Beautification Committee and participation on the Redevelopment Project Area Committee.
