I will commit to improving the quality of education for All of the children in Alameda's public schools. I will fight to maintain competitive salaries so that we can continue to attract and retain good teachers and staff. I will ensure that we maintain class size reduction and will work to provide a greater emphasis on art and music in our schools.

I commit to providing diligent oversight of the District finances. I will aggressively seek additional money from the State and Federal governments while ensuring that we realize the full potential of the money that we currently receive. I will also strive to ensure that the District successfully applies for as much grant money as possible.

I will continue to work with parents on ways to become more involved in their children's education as well as work to improve communication between the District and parents. As the parent of two children in the District, I know the value of good communications between administration, students, teachers and parents.

I commit to work to ensure the safety of all children at school and to continue my work increasing the safety of children on their way to and from school.
