I love the City of Fremont. I have lived here most of my life, met my wife of 15 years at Ohlone Jr. College, and thoroughly enjoy raising my 6-year old son and 13-year old daughter in this wonderful community. I also have, and will continue, to make a living in this great city.

A quality Fremont education enabled me to grow a successful business and assist in building a stong local economy. I am proud to have graduated from Irvington High School and to have spent two years at Ohlone College. I also graduated with honors from Santa Clara University with both a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. In 1989 I began work at Dutra Realty, right here in Fremont. Under my leadership as President, the company went through an extremely successful period of growth culminating with 250+ associates and six office locations. After becoming the 75th largest brokerage in the nation, Dutra Realty was acquired by Prudential California Realty, giving me the opportunity to broaden my horizons and business experience within a variety of ventures. I now serve as President of Dutra Enterprises, Inc. where, committed to building our community, we now stand poised to revitalize the Mission San Jose area with a new commercial development while also nurturing "smart growth" by building 10 condominium units near the Fremont Bart Station.

I care about the children and families of our community. I am dedicated to improving the quality of life and helping children in our community. I am the current Vice Chair of "One Child," a non-profit organization that provides new clothes and school supplies to needy children. I also juggle a busy schedule as a Sunday School Teacher, a soccer coach for the Fremont Youth Soccer League (2001), and as a youth leader at Bible Study Fellowship. In addition to my youth work, I have long worked closely with affordable housing groups to create new, livable communities. As an active community member, I've served on the Steering Committee for the Fremont School Bond Campaign, was a member of the Fremont Symphony Board, and sat on the Steering Committee for the first Fremont Leadership Prayer Breakfast.
