Jobs: High Wages and Good Benefits

Mayor Bob Jehn is running for state Assembly because he believes that attracting stable, high-wage jobs is the key to creating a bright future for the North Coast. Under his leadership, Jehn's hometown has created over 500 new jobs in a variety of fields. In the Assembly, Bob will work to:

  • Attract and encourage the creation of stable businesses that are committed to the community

  • Create jobs that pay high wages and full benefits

  • Encourage diverse, environmentally-friendly industries like alternative energy development, tourism and family-owned businesses.

Environment: Protect and Preserve

We are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Bob Jehn believes we must protect our environment and leave it in better condition for our children and grandchildren.

And Jehn knows it's not a choice between the environment and the economy. Major sectors of our economy depend on a clean environment and some of the most promising industries of the future focus on generating clean energy and expanding transportation options.

  • Support rail and other alternative transporation projects to get traffic off our roads.

  • Protect our rivers and drinking water

  • Strictly enforce environmental regulations

  • Promote the development of clean energy

Health Care: Expertise and New Ideas

As a health care consultant, Bob Jehn has a keen understanding of the problems with our increasingly-troubled health care system. Rural areas like the North Coast face a special set of difficulties -- like the absence of HMO plans.

In the Assembly, Bob will use his expertise to bring doctors, patients, community leaders and insurance companies together to develop solutions that work for the North Coast.

  • Increase Medi-Cal reimbursement so doctors can afford to practice in the North Coast region

  • Promote solutions that will result in health care coverage for all Californians

  • Hold a statewide Health Care Summit to begin finding permanent health care solutions
