Candidate for
State Senator; District 34; Republican Party

This information is provided by the candidate

Araceli Gonzalez is an American of Mexican descent. Her father immigrated to the United States in 1963 and as a worker in the Anaheim Orange Groves he taught his family the value of a strong work ethic and the importance of helping those in need.

Gonzalez's dedication to assist working families led her to a career as an employment specialist working to find jobs for hundreds of Central Orange County residents.

She is the proud owner of Exceptional Staffing an Anaheim based employment agency providing human resource solutions and personnel services to Orange County businesses. She is a former city councilwoman and an active member of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and California Staffing Professionals.

In 2000, Gonzalez was a regional Co-chair and a national Hispanic media spokesperson on the Bush for President campaign. She founded a Girl Scout Troop and has worked with many non-profit organizations including the March of Dimes, American Heart Association, Junior Achievement and Catholic Charities.

Earlier this year, Gonzalez announced her intentions to run for the State Senate when she became increasingly frustrated with our political leaders in Sacramento.

She believes fiscal mismanagement and the energy crisis have forced us to siphon money from our main priorities # education and public safety. She is concerned that liberal politicians in Sacramento will raise taxes and balance the state budget on the backs of working families.

Gonzalez lives in Anaheim, is a mentor at a local high school and attends St. Boniface Catholic Church.
