IDENTITY THEFT AND FRAUDULENT IDENTITY USE

Every citizen has a right to be secure in the exclusive use of their good name and reputation. The victim, whose identity was stolen, must not be victimized again by holding them responsible for crimes perpetrated by the unauthorized use of their good name. A business must use diligence to determine the true identity of a person before extending credit. An innocent person who is damaged by having their identity stolen must have a remedy through tort relief against all parties of the transaction that caused the damage.
