Pete Bret is the Libertarian candidate for the Second Assembly District. Pete was born in Riverside California in 1950 and has been a resident of Shasta County since 1980. He is married and a grandparent. Pete is a property investor and serves part-time with the National Guard as an engineer. In the 1960's he served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman. He is a published author, California Registered Pharmacy Technician, and a legal assistant with degrees from Orange Coast College of Costa Mesa and Shasta College of Redding. He has traveled and worked around the world on building projects as varied as bridges in Central America, ships in Mississippi, tunnels and high rises in Southern California and pipelines in the Middle East. He is chairman of the Libertarian Party of Shasta County and treasurer of the Writers Forum. He is a member of Haven Humane Society, KIXE TV 9, Shasta Cascade Rail Preservation Society, The Nature Conservancy and National Rifle Association. In his leisure time he enjoys making improvements on his rental properties and motorcycling.
