I am a San Diego native. I graduated from Morse High School in San Diego, 1965. I began my college career at San Diego City College. I graduated from San Francisco State University in 1970, and after Air Force active duty, I obtained my Teaching Credential at the University.

I returned to San Diego after my college and military experiences in 1973 and have spent the balance of my professional career in San Diego. My primary responsibilities for several years involved Telecommunications and Networking, both as an Analyst and as a Senior Manager for national and internation companies.

I have lived in Normal Heights, where I now reside, University Heights, Mission Hills, Hillcrest, and the beach area. I grew up in Paradise Hills. I know the territory intimately and can relate to the needs of our diverse community.

I have taught adult and community college classes for the past seven years in the Sweetwater High School District, San Diego Community College District, and the Southwestern Community College District.

More recently I have been working with non-profit organizations designing networks and systems. I am involved in Community Technology Group issues addressing the Digital Divide. The Divide is literally the division between persons who have access to computers and those that do not. This 'divide' is often extended to the accessibility of a quality college education. I am working to close this divide.

My classes have been recognized by the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee. They have been cited as the best designed program for this community effort in the United States. I have innovated training programs in High Schools and Colleges, notably in Technology and Communications. Several programs were the first of their kind in California.
