Position Papers
The Costs of the proposed new City Hall
The proposed new City Hall is already well over budget. It has gone from an estimated cost of $214 million to close to $350 million. The new City Hall will not save the city money.
The better plan to rid our city's litter problem.
Litter is not only a physical blight on our city, it is also a psychological blight on our neighborhoods. Blight, in the form of ever-present litter, devalues our neighborhoods and overwhelms our senses. Being free from litter is a quality-of-life issue and as Mayor I will embark on a comprehensive and effective anti-litter campaign.
The Measure O tax bond
Public safety is one of the most important services a city can provide to its residents. This tax measure will raise your property taxes for 30 years to build firestations and police stations. There is an alternative to raising your taxes to pay for these basic public safety services.
