A Personal Statement from Karen Taillon

By Karen L. Taillon

Candidate for Superior Court Judge; County of Orange; Office 8

This information is provided by the candidate
There are 105 judges on the bench in Orange County Superior Court. Less than 50% of the courtrooms are assigned only criminal cases, and at least 30% handle only civil cases. We need more judges with the broad range of experience I will bring to the bench. My experience is very diverse and deep. I have litigated in state and federal courts, and against the State Attorney General's office in quasi-criminal administrative matters. I have served as a Judge Pro Tem handling traffic trials, and most recently with the Superior Court settlement conference program. I have represented individuals, and small and large businesses. I have represented both plaintiffs and defendants. I know what it is to guide a client through a process which can be very expensive and time consuming, and I know what a difference it makes to the public when we have judges who are fair, firm, hardworking, and concerned. I will do my best to serve the community with judicial integrity and responsibility, and require accountability.

I am honored to ask for your vote on March 5, and honored to receive it.
