Harris E. Kershnar was Student Body President of Alfred University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1975 with a double major in psychology and political science. While still an undergraduate, he attended a graduate seminar program at Oxford University in Oxford, England. During his undergraduate days, Harris was an intern in the office of the Honorable Claude Pepper, Congressman from Florida. Harris was awarded the "Ponyman Scholarship" at Alfred University, which is awarded annually to the graduate most likely to distinguish himself in the field of law.

Harris obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 1978. While still in law school, Harris spent a clinical semester as Extern to Chief Justice Donald Wright of the California Supreme Court. He graduated "Order of the Coif", which signifies that he was in the top 10% of his class at UC Berkeley.

Following graduation Harris worked as an associate at the firm of O'Melveny & Myers (then the 6th largest law firm in the United States). Harris next worked at the firm of Graham & James where he was the only attorney in the firm's southern California offices who advised clients regarding labor and employment law issues. Since 1985 Harris has been Special Counsel to the firm of Wallin & Klarich in Tustin, California. As "Special Counsel", Harris is essentially a solo practitioner. Thus, Harris has worked at one of the largest firms in the country, where he advised large businesses and he has worked on his own advising both individuals and small businesses. During the 16 years that Harris has been a "solo", his practice has thrived exclusively based upon word of mouth recommendations.

From 1989 to the present, Harris has been a lecturer for the Continuing Education of the Bar ("CEB") program. As a CEB lecturer, Harris updates practicing attorneys in Orange County on developments in the area of Labor and Employment Law. Harris' expertise has been recognized by other practicing attorneys who have designated him as an expert on issues pertaining to Labor Law.

Harris is particularly proud of the fact that he was selected for inclusion in the 2001-02 Edition of "The Best Lawyers In America". Harris was selected for this honor by his peers in the legal community and he had no knowledge that he was under consideration for that honor until he was notified that he had been selected. Michelle Reinglass, former President of the Orange County Bar Association (who was also selected for inclusion in "The Best Lawyers In America"), is one of many individuals who have endorsed Harris' candidacy for Judicial Seat # 21.

Harris is also proud of the fact that his candidacy has received bipartisan support. His candidacy has been endorsed by individuals who are Republicans and by individuals who are Democrats. Similarly, his candidacy has been endorsed by attorneys who exclusively represent employers and by attorneys who exclusively represent employees. In other words, he has the respect of people on both sides of the aisle who believe he has the integrity, honesty, knowledge and objectivity to serve with distinction in the position of Superior Court Judge.
