Smart Voter Full Biography for Mark E. Farrar

Candidate for
Superior Court Judge; County of Orange; Office 27

This information is provided by the candidate

Mark E. Farrar was born in California and raised in Arizona. He attended Arizona State University, majoring in Political Science. After graduation, Mark attended law school in Orange County at Western State University. Following graduation in 1976, Mark passed the California Bar Exam and began his solo law practice in late 1976.

As any young (and new) lawyer, he handled cases that ran the spectrum of legal subjects including criminal defense, civil litigation, probate, juvenile law, family law and business litigation. Mark also had business clients whose legal needs he looked after.

In 1988, Mark's practice focused on the growing field of fraudulent insurance claims in California. His clientele, mainly insurance companies, relied on him to fight the fraudulent claims presented by organized crime groups for claims including large volume cases of stolen vehicles, arson, commercial and residential burglaries (and related claims), slip-and-falls, auto accidents and personal injury claims, etc.

Many policyholders were victims of unscrupulous criminals, professional businesspersons, lawyers, doctors, etc. who arranged for the fraudulent claims, treatment and frivolous lawsuits. Mark has worked closely with insurance companies to protect their policyholders and see that justice was obtained in the courts.

Mark has been active in church callings, provided hours of service to the communities in which he has lived, Boy Scouts of America (volunteer and leader), AYSO girls soccer, etc. Giving back to the community is important and is one of the main reasons Mark seeks election to the Bench.

Being a fulltime single father kept Mark from devoting a lot of time to the Orange County Bar Association. However, he has been active as a Mentor in the local bar association trying to teach and assist younger lawyers who need guidance or assistance in their practice.

After 25 years of practice, Mark E. Farrar now desires to progrees to the next level of service and dedication in his career...Judge of the Orange County Superior Court, Seat 27.
