Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Lou Calcagno

Candidate for
Supervisor; County of Monterey; Supervisorial District 2

This information is provided by the candidate

Because my background and experience provide me with the knowledge and ability to address issues facing Monterey County, I feel it is important to seek reelection to the Board of Supervisors to be able to apply that knowledge for the benefit of our community.

As a business owner, a county supervisor, a former chair of one of the largest dairy cooperatives in the western United States, as a Monterey County Planning Commissioner for eighteen years and a Coastal Commissioner for 5 1/2 years, I have extensive experience in both private enterprise and in government service. I want to use that knowledge and those skills to protect and improve this unique area we call home.

As your Supervisor, my priorities will be to provide enhanced law enforcement for all of our citizens and the preservation of our agriculture and agricultural lands. We must find solutions to our water problems and I strongly support programs for our senior citizens and will pursue balanced improvements to our transportation corridors.
