I strongly believe that members of Piedmont's City Council must be tested individuals with the time, energy and experience necessary to do an effective job.

The critical formula for decision making combines (1) a thorough understanding of the issues based on available information and (2) experience-based perspective. While the staff recommendation is important, I would place equal emphasis on community input, personal investigation and my background as a city and school volunteer.

I have eleven years of combined experience as both a city and school volunteer. Those of you who have observed my work on the Park Commission these past four years or who have worked with me over the past decade in various school-related functions, such as our Arbor/Earth Day programs, know that I am conscientious, persistent and thorough, and that I get the job done. I will approach my role on the City Council in the same manner.

I have spent a lot of time over the past decade getting to know Piedmont and what we love about this community. I have worked with various community groups such as the Piedmont Beautification Foundation, the schools and city staff on many projects. I understand what Piedmonters expect and deserve from our community leaders.

I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the community and I pledge to devote the time and energy necessary to effectively govern Piedmont. I will be readily accessible to all members of the community and I assure you that I will be thoroughly prepared to independently, effectively and thoughtfully address all issues that come before the Council.
