Born Fresno, California. Attended UC Santa Cruz, B.A. Environmental Studies, 1998. I have lived in Oakland since 1995, when I was working with the East Bay Conservation Corps AmeriCorps program doing outdoor community service projects.

I have continued my involvement with hands-on environmental work and education over the years with the City of Oakland's Team Oakland and Summer Creek Crews (as a Team Leader and Team Leader Coordinator), the Friends of Sausal Creek (where I served on the steering committee as well as leading outdoor volunteer work), the Lake Merritt Institute (as a lake clean-up volunteer), the Girl Scouts (as an assistant troop leader), and the Golden Gate Audubon Society (as a volunteer environmental educator). My other career work has been as an office clerk and then office supervisor for Census 2000, campaign coordinator for the Green Party of Alameda County during the 2000 election season, staffperson for the Green Party of Alameda County in 2001, and group facilitator for Smart Growth planning projects sponsored by the Association of Bay Area Governments and the City of Livermore. I also am a tenants' rights advocate and serve as co-chair for the Oakland Tenants' Union, and am a member of Just Cause Oakland. I have been active with the Green Party since 1998.

I am currently exploring and evaluating what I can give to the world (meaning looking for a way to support myself in line with my Green values), and plan to attend graduate school or professional school... I just need to pick a field of study (and a school).

As a young person (under 30), I am somewhat desperately in search of a mentor who can help guide my decision-making and provide emotional support in this crazy world. Please get in touch with me if this is something you can offer to me on either a short- or long-term basis.
