Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Mary Beth (Schlegel) Shelton

Candidate for
Board Member; Reading City School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe the Reading Schools are very good schools now and hope that I can get elected to the School Board so that I can be a part of continuing their excellence and striving towards even better results. I feel that the curriculum needs to be updated as soon as possible and that there needs to be a schedule of when each core subject's curriculum is revisited so that we stay up to date. I also am interested in continuing the growth of technology use in the school and would like the High School to offer IBM compatible format as well as MAC so that our students can become proficient in both formats and be ready for the work place when they graduate. I think we have hired an excellent group of people to head our schools and I would like to support them in their efforts to bring about positive changes where needed.
