Questions & Answers

1. How would you implement your top priority?

My overriding goal is to ensure that the Village maintains and enhances its quality of life. Although the first two priorities that I mentioned are crucial, without optimization of our revenue stream, it would be difficult to accomplish these goals.
Uses of existing revenue should be carefully thought out. Funds should be targeted for those projects that most benefit the Vilage as a whole.
We need to generate revenue from the Gibson Cards property. I would pursue relationships with both the holding company that owns the property and the current lessee, American Greetings. At the same time, I would seek contacts both within and outside the community to develop potential prospects for the property.
I would also support the Council's desires to develop 27 acres in the northwestern portion of Amberley with an office park or similar project. The border location is ideal for supplying the Village with revenue without upsetting its character. Care should be taken to allow for some recreational development either in that area, or, if it is more advantageous to the Village, in another part of Amberley.
I would also suggest that we constantly be seeking development or redevelopment opportunities that add to the quality of life in the Village - be it residential, recreational, or economic.
