Wes Flinn, a native of Pinhook, Indiana, received his BM in music theory and composition from Morehead [KY] State University in 1994 and the MM in Composition from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 1996. Currently Wes is working on a Ph.D. in music theory at CCM, and is also serving as President of the University of Cincinnati Graduate Student Governance Association. He is an Adjunct Instructor of Music Theory at Northern Kentucky University. He has written for several area high school marching bands and drum and bugle corps, and also serves as Governor of Province 3 of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a fraternity devoted to the promotion of American music and American musicians. He currently resides in Clifton.

As a musician and conductor, he has had to work within large groups of diverse people and bring them together for common goals. As an educator, He has seen first hand the importance of disseminating knowledge and of being open and accessible to those who would seek me out. As the son of a farmer, he knows the value of hard work and not giving up when adversity arises. As an urban dweller, he have experienced the trials as well as the joys (especially the joys) of urban life. He believes his vision of a more responsive government, better police/community relations, and affordable housing, and his willingness to work hard toward that vision, makes him a qualified candidate for Cincinnati City Council.
