Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Rene Ripperger Dierker

Candidate for
Board Member; Norwood City School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I am concerned with the declining enrollment of the school district over the last decade and the projected enrollment figures that show a continued decrease in student numbers in the foreseeable future. It is important for the Norwood School District to provide exceptional educational services to all the children of Norwood. When that occurs, enrollment will once again increase. Since enrollment is declining, redundant positions should be eliminated and adminstrative costs streamlined. The children of Norwood deserve every available penny be spent for their benefit. If I am elected, I promise to do my very best to put policies and practices in place that regain and strengthen public trust and confidence in the schools. I will also research all matters and issues facing the school board to the best of my ability and take into account what is best for the children whenever voting.

One such practice I would like to see implemented is the scheduling of Board of Education meetings in the different neighborhood schools on a rotating basis. The school board must remain accessible to the parents and the community if it is to serve the children of Norwood well.
