Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Deborah L. Acra

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Harrison

Fiscal Responsibility

As a council member I try to ask the question you would ask about how your money is being spent. I believe it is our primary concern to give careful consideration to how we raise money and how we spend it. Our accounting practices must be reviewed and departments held to a strict budget. I will always ask for justification for increased spending and, where applicable, comparable price quotes and other options.

Street and Sidewalk repair and reconstruction

I support the continuing process of street repair, choosing a project each year and securing the funding through grant opportunities. I strongly support the I-74 bridge overpass reconstruction and adjoining New Haven road repair and rebuilding.

I will work to form a sidewalk repair program which will eventually address all the sidewalks in Harrison on a continual basis.

Cleaning up Harrison

We must be tough on violations to our zoning code by issuing citations and following through to rid the community of the unsightly areas.
