1. How would you implement your top priority?

Answer from William A. Molony:

Master the details of the village budget; Prioritize the funding requests; Solicit, negotiate and obtain the best contracts, balancing cost, quality, and timeliness. This is not something where one just shoots from the hip; the implementation requires input from all the stakeholders, open discussion, and planning. I have the time, talent, and interest to address the issue. I am retired and will be available during the day to check on the business of the village. I have the education and the experience in public service appropriate for a position on village council. service.

Answer from Mark F. Porst:

1) Examine current spending for inefficiencies 2) Benchmark other communities to determine appropriate levels of spending 3) Gather resident perspective on relative value of services and willingness to pay

Answer from Stefan L. Olson:

Terrace Park is a unique community with a rich tradition of volunteerism and community involvement in addressing the needs of our village. If elected, I would work to make sure that the Village council provides leadership in maintaining and encouraging that tradition. The village is faced with challenges which can only be adressed with the knowledge and support of the residents. In order to do that, the Council needs to promote participation, not discourage it. The Council needs to work at ways that make information about issues that effect the village available to residents. We also need to establish ways that encourage citizen input and Council response. Utilizing the Village Views, the Terrace Park Web Site, and regularly scheduled Village Forums at the community building could all work to make the Council accessible to a well informed community. The Council also needs to hold members responsible for timely reponse to resident's inquiries
