1. How would you implement your top priority?

Answer from Doug Schray:

Anything inacted by governing bodies should benefit from and reflect the input of the citizens most directly affected. The only way this is possible is through establishing effective communication channels within the community. The environment for communication must be open, honest and non-threatening, encouraging ideas and dialogue from all of our citizens. Greenhills is a small community with a strong identity, and it's population has demonstrated a willingness to become involved when motivated and informed. As a council person we must use all means available to keep citizens informed. This includes local newspapers, Waycross Community Media cable TV, public forums, even the internet, but most importantly one on one communication. Greenhills is blessed as a community that cares one for another, and this spirit must be nurtured and reflected in all aspects of community life, especially by those given the priviledge of serving in an elected capacity.

Answer from Fred H. Murrell:

Along with the present council I support the Village's program to buy some of the underperforming Village housing stock to re-develop. We are atempting to provide reasonable-cost opportunities for home ownership in the Village. With careful management, the rental income of the presently owned units provide the ability to acquire a critical mass of properties in targeted areas of the Villlage. We can then proceed to work with developers to renovate or rebuild, if necessary, this housing stock.

Answer from Clifft Rotherum:

By retaining the present Municipal Manager and Finance Director.
