Short Term Goals

By William W. Dyer

Candidate for Board Member; Oakdale Joint Unified School District; Trustee Area 2

This information is provided by the candidate
I believe that the district needs to continue their effort to provide educational opportunities for all students to excel in their career choice. Some careers require a college education, while others need community college or trade school training, yet still others use on the job training. All students need an equal opportunities to succeed.

I believe that collaboration within agencies need to be continuously improved upon. Schools, municipalities, county agencies and other groups who have access to public or private funding, need to work toward the common goal I believe that: giving our youth the best possible opportunities to succeed. After school and evening activities improve education and reduce delinquency.

I believe that Oakdale is increasing its housing market and the school age population continues to expand. Our already multi tracked elementary schools are currently over capacity. We need to explore the expansion of the elementary capacity, and start modernization projects for the Junior and Senior High schools to upgrade to current standards.
