Candidate for Councilmember; City of Foster City; 2 Year Term

Communication between the school board and the community.
Certainly one of the hottest subjects over the years in Foster City has been our schools. Most of the problems seem to stem from the lack of communication between our School Board Members and the community. If elected I would work to change that. Presently we have some new issues facing our community; the retrofit or redesign of San Mateo High and the redistricting of high school boundaries. I recognize these are important issues effecting the educational well being of our children. Therefore, I will listen to the differing viewpoints and urge the school board to make the best decision for our children. Furthermore, we must have accountability and we must maintain our high standards. Our schools currently enjoy a good reputation and I want keep it that way. The monies infused into our schools from the passage of the recent bond measure must be spent wisely. I will work with our elected school officials to make sure that happens.
