Top Priorities:

1)My top priority is to keep Los Altos schools academically strong. Star test results place LASD as the top district in the state. I firmly believe this is due to the unselfish cooperation between the Board, teachers and administrators, all of whom put education first. I am committed to continue this cooperation.

2)In 1998 the voters approved a bond to renovate our schools. There have been many challenges along the way, but working together the citizens, the parents, the staff, and cities have focused to make plans become reality. I have been extremely active in this effort because I believe the children and staff deserve renovated schools and the taxpayers deserve the best for each dollar of the bond.

3)State funding for our schools does not begin to cover the cost of the educational program that our students enjoy. The generous community, via the voter approved parcel tax, the LAEF, and the untold hour at each school by the PTA's and volunteer parents, contribute to nearly 20% of our programs' cost. We, the board and the community, need to continue to look forward and work together to maintain a plan that assures we can continue our program and provide our children the best education.
