Jim Quayle

In 1950 I joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Korean war with the 1st marine division. I married in 1953 and can proudly say we are still married and happy as ever. My tour ended in 1954 and I joined the United Association of journeymen and apprentices plumbing union. In 1959 I received my journeyman certificate, and later tested and received my plumbing contractors license. I then opened my own plumbing business in San Clemente California. Where we did business for 25 years.

With the rising costs for housing and living, my wife and I came south looking for a new place to call home. We found beautiful Murrieta and knew this was where we wanted to live. The housing was affordable and the community was small and cozy. We felt right at home in our new home. It took a little time to establish the business in our new area, but before long we were receiving more work than we could handle. My son joined us in the business and we started doing assisted living projects in the area and some in northern California. As time went on I decided my son could handle the business and became semi retired. Over the past 12 years I have watched Murrieta grow and my concerns have grown also. I feel if we don't use careful planning and have strong leadership in our city council our gem of the valley will become over grown and congested. I have more time now to devote to our beautiful city as your councilman. I have nothing in common with developers or anyone else with special interests in our city. I will always have an open ear to our citizens. I want to be known as the people of Murrieta's voice in the city council. I feel it is time for new faces on city council, and there are now eight to choose from.
