General InformationBy Natu TuatagaloaCandidate for Governing Board Member; San Rafael High School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Growing up in San Rafael, my family instilled in me a strong sense of community service and civic responsibility. My wife and I attended San Rafael City Schools from kindergarten through high school. I went on to graduate from the University of California Berkeley with a degree in history. My oldest daughter attends San Rafael City Schools as will my two younger daughters. From volunteering with the PTA, to mentoring student athletes, to speaking with students about the importance of having goals and the dangers of drugs, my commitment to education is very personal. As a six year veteran of the NFL, I learned the importance of focusing on details, work ethic, and being well prepared. As an executive in the Telecom industry, I have construction and technology experience along with the communication skills necessary for issues management. These characteristics serve me well and will help me tackle the issues facing our students, our schools and our community. VISION Challenging Academic Program for All Students Capable and Visionary Administrators Comprehensive Teacher Support Strong Community Partnerships Safe Schools Modernized Facilities Sound Fiscal Management "Tackling the issues that face our students, parents, teachers, administrators and community starts with a foundation of communication and strong relationships. There are many villages in San Rafael, but to ensure the success of our public schools it's going to take our entire Community." - Natu Tuatagaloa Vote for Natu Tuatagaloa for School Board Tuesday, November 6, 2001 |
