Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Shanda Le Boeuf

Candidate for
Board Member; Monterey Peninsula Unified School District; Trustee Area 2

This information is provided by the candidate

As a Board member I would like to accomplish three things:

First, the District needs to exercise fiscal responsibility and accountability. With my background, I understand the importance of maintaining a balanced budget. I also realize the importance of questioning and understanding financial reports in order to make just, sound decisions. I also know based on my professional experience that you cannot please everybody, however, in order to maintain fiscal stability, the final decisions will have to take into consideration what is best overall for the children and the district.

Secondly, the school board needs to define its vision for our children and our schools. We need to put the children first and act truly in their best interests as we prepare them for college and employment.

Finally, the community needs to become more involved and start partnering with the teachers, support staff, administrators and board members to bring forth their issues and concerns. Without this exchange, we cannot truly our most precious resource: our children.
