Our award winning parks need our continued support

By David E. Hudson

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of San Ramon

This information is provided by the candidate
You have given our parks a more than 90% approval rating in a recent survey. Our park programs are no less noteworthy.
Our citizen have made it clear that San Ramon Parks and schools are a main reason they moved here. The parks are alive on the weekends and after school. When soccer teams come here for games they are amazed by the condition of the fields and the amenities we provide. I have not seen a better park or field then where our kids play daily.

The schedule of events and programs offered at the Community Center and Senior Center are consistantly filled. Even programs not offered by the city are filled early (ie. Aguabears, Aquacats, 'bears, Scouting etc.)We support our sponsored groups and our private recreation.

The Dougherty Valley development will add a new park every year and we will have a new Community Center and a new library in 2005. Our agreement brings allotted funds to pay for the impacts on new parks as well as impacts to existing parks. Parks will continue to be the priority in San Ramon.

There will be a community college in Dougherty Valley and that will allows us to expand programs even more. The future is bright for San Ramon.

We will continue with the 4th of July Spectacular, Raindeer Run, Primos Run, Windfaire, Black & White Party, California Days....the list is long. The past is pretty good too.
