EXPERIENCE

East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation, Oakland, CA Director, Consulting & Asset Management - 2001 to Present Senior Project Manager - 1994 to 2000. Project Management Responsibilities included:


Swans Market: 18 affordable apartments, 20 Cohousing Condominiums, 42,000 s.f. of commercial space for 20 businesses, parking and a public courtyard.


Avalon Senior Apartments: 67 apartments & 8,500 s.f. of retail space in joint venture with Catellus Residential Group;


The San Pablo Hotel, 144 units of senior housing with ground floor health care facilities for seniors. The development was a joint venture with Eden Housing & Center for Elders Independence;


Hismen Hin-nu (Sun Gate) Terrace: 92 family housing units over 14,000 s.f. of retail space & parking garages - Mr. Simons role consisted of Construction administration and permanent loan closing;


Assess of new development opportunities and training for Community Housing Development Organizations.

Chinatown Community Development Corporation (formerly Chinese Community Housing Corporation) Housing Specialist - 1990 to 1994. Project Management Responsibilities included:
Larkin-Pine Senior Housing: a 63 unit SRO senior housing complex built in air rights over a new postal facility.

Project Artaud Corporation Executive Director - 1987 to 1989. Project Artaud is a nonprofit arts complex in San Francisco operated as a limited equity cooperative in a three story 110,000 square foot building with 77 live/work studios, three theaters, and two galleries. Responsibilities included refinancing City and private loans, selection and supervision of contractors for building renovation, resolution of tenant disputes, and institution of new procedures to avoid future problems.
