Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Ralph Edward Johnson

Candidate for
Board Member; Castro Valley Sanitary District

This information is provided by the candidate

During my 30 year career with Alameda County, I observed the political process at the local level, mainly with the activities of the Board of Supervisors. Over the last year, I have had to actively participate in a political process and it has been a learning experience for me. One of the things I have learned is that you need to develop issues based on community guidance, then work with staff and the other Board members to develop and implement the proposal. It also may be a process of give and take. For example, you may need to be willing to modify your position in order to gain the support of the other Board members. This is a difficult and slow process to adjust to, but I am adjusting well.
