Smart Voter Full Biography for Ralph Edward Johnson

Candidate for
Board Member; Castro Valley Sanitary District

This information is provided by the candidate

I have served on the Board for over one year, after being appointed to complete the term of retiring member Tony Morsilli. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a BS in Civil Engineering, am a Professional Civil Engineer, worked for the Alameda County Public Works Agency, and retired last year as Deputy Director of Public Works, after 30 years of service. My family and I have lived in Castro Valley for over 25 years. My wife teaches for the Castro Valley Unified School District and both daughters graduated from Castro Valley High. I am currently working part time, so I have sufficient time to devote to the District's management. I managed several special districts, similar to the Sanitary District, during my career with Alameda County. This solid technical background and my management skills have helped me to actively participate on the Sanitary Board for the last year.
