Education and Qualifications:

Background: An architect/planner and active community leader. Born in San Jose, I lived in the Alum Rock area for 39 years. I was interned with my family during World War II, returned to San Jose, raised my family with wife, Barbara. My four children attended Alum Rock schools, graduating from James Lick High School.

Proven Leader: A San Jose/Evergreen College District Trustee, a former East Side Union High School District Trustee, I'm the only City Council candidate with proven experience as Elected Official. Appointed by City Council to the San Jose Bicentennial Commission and the San Jose Commission on the Internment of Local Japanese Americans; and the Human Relations Commission.

Educator: I'm the only candidate with experience leading our local schools. I will work to expand mentoring and tutoring programs, encourage coordination of city and school programs. For our students: A seamless Kindergarten to college is my goal.

Neighborhoods: I will always put our neighborhoods first, make sure BART enhances our neighborhoods, bring more libraries, youth centers in our neighborhoods. I will hold regular "Town Hall" meetings to make sure your voice is heard at City Hall. Local Support: I'm supported by neighborhood, community, business, civic and organization leaders.
