Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Rob Hammond

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Monrovia

Open Space Aquisition/ Controlled growth

The challege of financing, and purchasing the foothill property will be the largest project we will face. We must leverage the $10 million bond money to secure grants, and matching funds from Ferderal, State, and County sources. As the Southern Californian population continues to grow we must be mindful not to have out of control growths. We need to always remember to take care of the people that are residing here first, before addressing the needs of future residents.

Public Safety

Four years ago I ran on A ZERO TOLLERANCE to gangs and graffiti platform. During the second year of my term The Joint Task Force was formed. We have had over 200 felonoy arrest, and during the year 1998-1999 not a single act of violence was recorded. The Joint Task Force works. We plan to add neighboring cities in the future.

Monrovia Public Library

Our current library was built almost 50 years ago. it was built for a town that was half the population we currently have. In its present form the library is not able to meet the needs of the community. We need and deserve a library that will serve our entire community.
