Childhood Born June 15, 1954 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Daughter of a skilled union laborer and full-time homemaker Public high school graduate 1972

Education and Work University of Wisconsin-Madison bachelor's degree 1979 University of Wisconsin Medical School degree 1982, honored for outstanding leadership Served her country for five years as an active duty medical officer in the U.S. Navy Completed residency training and board certification in family practice 1990 Moved to Cincinnati area 1991 to practice medicine and settled in Green Township Currently in private group practice with Western Family Physicians.

Family Life Married since 1984 to Michael Butba, a retired Naval officer Sons, Matthew age 14 and Andrew age I 1, students in the Oak Hills School District Part-time mother to Michael's sons, Michael age 26 and Daniel age 24

Professional and Community Activities Co-authored 1994 Highways to Health, a teen resource guide, funded by a grant from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

Volunteer assistant professor of family medicine at University of Cincinnati since 1992

Re-activated the Cincinnati branch of the American Medical Women's Association in 1994, which was instrumental in provision of workshops to educate Cincinnati area physicians about the devastating health effects of domestic violence.

Member of the Medical Work Group with the Cincinnati Domestic Violence Coordinating Council from 1996-1998.

Highly acclaimed master faculty lecturer 1997-1998 for the American Medical Women's Association and Department of Defense Breast Cancer Training Project

Numerous presentations to community organizations, radio shows, and groups on a variety of medical and socially related topics, and an outspoken critic of profit motivated managed care health insurance and the destruction of the health professional-patient relationship.
