Questions & Answers

1. What role should Hamilton County Commissioners play in establishing a regional transportation system?

As a Commissioner I will initiate and insist on the proper study, planning and integration of all methods to be used. The system must be effective and efficient. It must include present road systems, rail lines and must be truly pedestrian friendly. The building, operating and maintaining the system must not become a tax burden to the region. There must be a definitive positive cost / benefit ratio before approval of any system.

2. How would a county comprehensive long-range plan benefit county citizens?

A comprehensive long-range plan for the county that would include infrastructure, good economic business development and affordable residential development would benefit county citizens most importantly by maintaining and/or increasing propety values thus protecting everyones investments and assuring a revenue stream for the delivery of proper government services (police, fire, roads etc). A successful implementation of a well defined long-range plan would lead to a positive contribution to the quality of life for businesses and citizens

3. How would you expand the role/funding of the Tax Levy review Committee in include more careful monitoring of levy funds?

I have not determined at the present time if there should be an expansion of the role/function of the Tax Levy Review Committee. I will state, however, that as a Commissioner I would act to have all interest generated from levy funds to be deposited in there particular/specific account in order to reduce the overall millage needed.
