We must put people to work

By Jim Garfield

Candidate for Member of the City Council; City of Santa Paula

This information is provided by the candidate
I have a strong commitment to putting people to work in our community, since we have such a high umemployment rate.
With one of the highest unemployment rates in Ventura County we need to continue our efforts to employ our underemployed and our unemployed.

It makes a man or woman have more self-pride if they can bring home a paycheck and be sufficient is supporting themselves. By spending their money in Santa Paula they are helping provide the services that they need.

We need the new areas (East area 2 and West area 2) in the General Plan to have the necessary parcels to accomodate the growth in our industrial base. We need to continue to encourage clean, light industry to come to Santa Paula.

I encourage everyone to Vote No on Measure I to allow us to grow sensibly and with pride in ourselves and in our community.
