I grew up in the Bay Area. I have lived in the Peninsula area as well as other parts of the region for most of my life. I started my business and family in the San Mateo area. My family and relatives live in this county. They all understand the value of education. I believe I am very qualified to represent this county's needs and interests, especially in the vital areas of special education, school safety and increased student performance, and improved allocation of funds for schools, libraries and fair teacher compensation.

I am an ardent supporter of the public school systems. I have contributed time and energy to assist Bay Area School Districts. I am the past president of a local County Chamber of Commerce. I was also the past president of the District 17 Junior Chamber of Commerce (JayCees) in 1990-1. I know the requirements to lead and serve as a role model for others. I want to share my leadership experiences with members of this board. I have aspired to serve in the public domain. I ran before for a Unified School District seat in the East Bay and served as a volunteer for the school district. I have donated my time to athletic and football programs. I would like to serve the county in many ways in the educational arena.

Leadership I was the past president of other chambers in the East Bay and San Mateo area. I have held leadership positions in other civic and nonprofit organizations. I was the president of mortgage lending and real estate firms in the past. I have held responsible and important positions of trust and service. I believe I can better serve the county as a board member. My background in education and business should be helpful to my service to the community.

I am an experienced businessman. I also am an experienced banker, loan officer and financial analyst. I worked for established lenders for many years as well as for established real estate firms.

I will share my business connections and contacts with large and small institutions in the Bay Area. I have worked with the Stanford Alumni Association in raising money for Stanford University and many charitable causes. I also have contributed time and energy to support many causes to help disadvantaged and needy people here and around the world. I care to contribute my time to this Board. I believe the impact will be felt among our future leaders, scientists, and educators of the world--our students.

I want to be a Board member of this County Body because I want to increase the quality of education among our youth and diligent students. I would like to see more spending without increased taxation. I would like to see better libraries and fair teacher compensation. Teachers need to be given more priority today given the competitive job market. They deserve our attention. I can contribute to this board to help shape the future of teachers and students. They need our help more than ever.
