Candidate for
Director; Cambria Community Services District

This information is provided by the candidate

The value of thirty years experience in public office has been demonstrated by my performance as CCSD Director and Board President. As President, with a newly elected board majority committed to setting new directions and policies for the District, I provided the leadership through a difficult and challenging period. I accept the responsibility to commit another four years meeting challenges for the good of our community. I have applied my extensive experience, technical and scientific knowledge and leadership skills in working with the CCSD staff, legal counsel and fellow directors on many complex issues. As the only candidate possessing the experience, familiarity and knowledge involved with these complex issues, my continued presence on the Board will insure there will be no delays or interruptions afecting progress in dealing with them.

Top Priorities: Water Security: Replacement of the community's water supply threatened by Chevron's MBTE contamination of the groundwater. Chevron must be held fully accountable in paying the full costs incurred in the location and development offacilities necessary to substitute a clean, safe full replacement supply.

The District must pursue the completion of the Master Water Plan in order to develop a secure supply of clean, safe, affordable water. The goal should be year round water security and maximum fire safety.

Fire Safety: Cambria is an extremely fire vulnerable area. It is an urban forest subject to wildfires. More water storage is a priority. Currently a 750,000 gallon tank is being designed and will be built on Pine Knolls but more capacity is needed and should be a top priority. The new Fire Chief should initiate the development of a Fire Safety Master Plan in cooperation with the CDF and County.

East West Ranch: For this priceles community asset, the District will need to develop a Management Plan which secures the district's interests by obtaining necessary easements and access for maintainance of utilities and public safety. The Plan must provide the community with public open space and appropriate recreational opportunities.
